Selene, a secular scientist, joins an expedition high into the mountains to find the dragon-god that is foretold in every world religion. 70k words, speculative fiction, complete, seeking representation.
All the cultures of the world once revered the dragon (in one form or another) — but, just like in our world, people today sneer at the unscientific.
A grainy image of a dragon is leaked on the nascent internet, and Selene, the scientist, finds herself on its trail at the peak of the highest mountain. She will contend with encountering the divine, a traitorous crew-mate and tyrannical captain, and, finally, overcoming the guilt of what she did to get on the trip in the first place…
